Alex Steven Vanburen – Senior Managing Attorney

Mr. Vanburen is the founder of Vanburen Legal Consulting, and serves as the firm’s senior managing attorney. Having called the Tri-Cities region home for over 20 years, he earned his undergraduate degree from nearby Emory & Henry College. As both an attorney and a long-time small business owner, Mr. Vanburen possesses a thorough understanding of the legal challenges faced by corporations, sole proprietors, contractors, and medical professionals in today’s highly litigious society.

Matthew Kerns – Director of Client Services

Johnson City, Tennessee

As Director of Client Services, Mr. Kerns manages billing, scheduling, and customer service for Vanburen Legal Consulting. Originally from Pennsylvania, he first moved to Northeast Tennessee in 2000. Mr. Kerns has extensive personnel management experience in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors, and is well-versed in liability prevention in the not-for-profit world.
